Addison Group is hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal to support a busy legal team specializing in patent matters. This role requires strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational abilities, and experience managing complex intellectual property portfolios and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee intellectual property docketing systems, ensuring critical deadlines and milestones are accurately tracked.
• Coordinate patent prosecution activities, including monitoring incoming correspondence, processing filings, and maintaining case records.
• Review and analyze patent-related documents to identify required actions and upcoming deadlines.
• Support the preparation, filing, and management of U.S. patent applications throughout the prosecution lifecycle.
• Conduct portfolio reviews and assist with compliance efforts to ensure matters progress according to established procedures.
• Generate reports, perform quality assurance reviews, and assist with audits of intellectual property records and processes.
• Assist with legal research and document review to support ongoing patent matters.
• Draft routine correspondence and other supporting documentation as needed.
• Provide administrative and operational support to attorneys and legal professionals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of intellectual property paralegal and docketing experience within a law firm environment.
• Demonstrated experience supporting patent prosecution matters.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong understanding of patent prosecution procedures and related deadlines.
• Ability to interpret and evaluate communications and documentation from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Experience creating, maintaining, and modifying reports within docketing or case management systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
