Staff Accountant

Position Overview


We are seeking a detail-driven Staff Accountant to play a key role in our month-end close and financial reporting processes. In this position, you will ensure the accuracy of financial statements, perform thorough variance analyses, maintain rigorousinternal controls in alignment with GAAP, and partner with cross-functional teams across corporate, sales, marketing, and resort management.
Key Responsibilities

• Month-End Close & GL Integrity: Ensure timely and accurate recording of all journal entries prior to general ledger close in accordance with corporate schedules.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present timely financial statements accompanied by insightful variance analysis for assigned areas.
• Reconciliations & Issue Resolution: Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and month-end schedules, actively researching and resolving reconciling items and customer inquiries.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure financial reporting conforms to GAAP and promptly notify accounting management of developing internal control or business issues.
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Support special projects, ad-hoc reporting requests, and cross-departmental financial inquiries.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (Accounting degree strongly preferred).
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in a month-end close / general ledger environment (timeshare or hospitality industry experience is a strong plus).
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, linked spreadsheets); familiarity with Microsoft Access or similar reporting tools and PeopleSoft is a plus.
• Core Competencies: Self-starter with high autonomy, exceptional organizational skills, ability to perform effectively under pressure, and strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
