Accounts Payable Specialist

Description Boater’s World Marine Centers is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in Bradenton, Florida. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for accurately processing vendor invoices and payments, maintaining vendor accounts, reconciling statements, resolving discrepancies, and supporting month-end accounting activities. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions while meeting established deadlines. The ideal candidate has previous accounts payable experience and is comfortable working with accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, vendors, and internal departments in a fast-paced business environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Receive, review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently Verify invoices against purchase orders, approvals, receipts, and other supporting documentation Prepare and process vendor payments according to established payment schedules and terms Maintain accurate vendor accounts and accounts payable records Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding or missing transactions Research and resolve invoice, payment, pricing, and account discrepancies Respond professionally and promptly to vendor inquiries Coordinate with internal departments to obtain required approvals or supporting documentation Maintain organized electronic and physical records of accounts payable transactions Assist with new vendor setup and maintenance of vendor information Monitor outstanding invoices and payment deadlines Assist with accounts payable reporting and account reconciliations Support month-end closing activities related to accounts payable Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation when requested Follow established accounting procedures, internal controls, and company policies Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency within accounts payable processes Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed Requirements Experience processing invoices, payments, and vendor transactions Experience reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate professionally with vendors and internal departments Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a finance team Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with financial information Ability to work full-time on-site in Bradenton, Florida

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Accounts payable or closely related accounting experience Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred Accounts payable experience in a multi-location organization High-volume invoice processing experience Experience with purchase orders and three-way matching Experience with ERP or accounting systems #J-18808-Ljbffr Boaters World
