Industrial Maintenance Technician

Coronado Steel is seeking an experienced, hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. This position will support the repair, maintenance, and improvement of production equipment throughout our foundry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues
• Diagnose and repair production machinery, shop equipment, cranes, induction furnaces, and furnace power supply units
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and work closely with production teams to minimize downtime
• Perform and improve preventative maintenance activities for critical plant equipment
• Help develop and execute a practical preventative maintenance plan
• Identify recurring equipment problems and implement permanent repairs or improvement projects
• Prioritize urgent repairs while supporting longer-term maintenance initiatives
• Coordinate the purchase of parts, materials, and outside services when necessary
• Communicate clearly with production employees and management regarding equipment condition, repairs, and downtime
• Maintain a hands-on presence throughout the facility rather than relying primarily on outsourced repairs

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair experience is required
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability
• Ability to read electrical diagrams, identify equipment faults, and safely complete repairs
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Comfortable working independently and making sound maintenance decisions
• Reliable, accountable, and able to manage competing priorities
• Willing and able to work in a physically demanding foundry environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with production employees and management
• Practical, floor-first approach to maintenance and problem-solving

Preferred Experience:

• Foundry, steel mill, casting, machining, fabrication, crane, or heavy equipment maintenance
• Induction furnace systems and furnace power supply troubleshooting
• Furnace service, industrial electrical repair, or similar specialized equipment experience

Interview Process:

Qualified candidates should be prepared to participate in a practical, hands on maintenance assessment during the interview process. This evaluation will focus on troubleshooting approach, technical knowledge, safety awareness, and comfort working in a foundry environment.
