Maintenance Technician

Role Description

Maintenance must have solid communication, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills. Candidates should possess some knowledge of preventive maintenance tasks including but not limited to performing regular inspections, cleaning, and upkeep of equipment and facilities. Maintenance will contact external partners, contractors, and will perform general upkeep of commercial and/or residential buildings including basic repairs, painting, cleaning, etc.

Position Details:

Preventive Maintenance:

• Performing regular inspections, cleaning, and upkeep of equipment and facilities to avoid breakdowns

Repairs:

• Fixing electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, machinery, and structural issues (e.g., doors, walls)

Troubleshooting:

• Diagnosing issues and determining the best repair methods

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, lockout/tagout) and monitoring safety equipment

General Upkeep:

• Handling miscellaneous tasks such as painting, cleaning, and basic carpentry

Documentation:

• Keeping records of contractors, completed work, maintenance logs, and inventory of supplies

Skills and Attributes:

Technical Knowledge:

• Understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems

Mechanical Aptitude:

• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and machinery

Problem Solving:

• Ability to identify issues and implement solutions efficiently

Industry Experience:

• 3+ years of relevant work experience required

Physical Stamina:

• Ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy equipment, and work in varied environments

Communication Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with family members, staff, contractors, and external vendors; ability to handle issues quickly and promptly

Attitudes and Behavior:

• Works well independently or in team situation. Self-motivated, pleasant, and detail oriented

• This position reports to the Financial Accountant

• None 

Internal Contact:

• This position will communicate frequently with family members, company management, office staff, tenants, and related-party staff

External Contacts:

• This position will have direct interaction and communication with external vendors / contractors

Salary/Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
