Registered Nurse ER

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to patients with a wide range of acuity levels, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, behavioral health, and critically ill cases. The nurse is responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center. This role requires strong communication skills, flexibility, and at least two years of nursing experience along with required certifications. Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and administer medications as prescribed.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients in the ER.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Manage care for patients ranging from low acuity to high acuity, including trauma and behavioral health cases.
• Utilize Epic electronic medical records for documentation and charting.
• Adhere to hospital policies and protocols for emergency and critical care.
• Provide patient education and support to patients and their families.
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications and continuing education.
• Participate in float assignments and weekend shifts as required.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in Emergency Room or critical care settings.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

• Experience in Level II Trauma Center or similar high-acuity emergency settings.
• Previous exposure to stroke, STEMI, trauma, and behavioral health patient populations.
• Additional certifications or training related to emergency nursing care.

• Must be willing to work weekends and float as needed.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; flexibility for holiday shifts is highly encouraged.
• Strict dress code: scrub colors allowed except reddish orange.
• Work environment includes a Level II adult trauma center and Level III pediatric trauma center with high patient acuity.

• Four 12-hour evening shifts per week (4x12 Eves).
• Guaranteed 60 hours per two-week pay period.
• Shift assignments may require flexibility to accommodate unit needs and holiday coverage.
