OPS Senior Legal Assistant

Hourly Rate: $30.00 – $33.00 (commensurate with experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Office of the General Counsel for the Agency for Health Care Administration is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal/Senior Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of working with limited supervision and have strong experience in:

• Legal research

• Document discovery and organization

• Document review

• Drafting pleadings and related legal documents

• Case management and support for active litigation

What is OPS employment?

OPS employment is a temporary employer/employee relationship used for accomplishing short term or intermittent tasks.

OPS employees are at-will employees and are subject to actions such as pay changes, changes to work assignment, and terminations at the pleasure of the agency head or designee.

OPS employees do not serve probationary periods or become permanent in their positions because they serve at the pleasure of the agency head.

Knowledge of legal terminology, laws, and legal procedures; ability to conduct fact‑finding interviews; ability to comprehend, interpret, and research information, legal documents, and references; ability to record information accurately and produce clear legal writing; ability to maintain organized files; ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; ability to communicate effectively; and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

One year experience as a Paralegal or Senior Legal Assistant.
