Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist/Sterile Processing Tech for a hospital Sterile Processing Department position requiring CRCST or CSPDT certification and broad surgical specialty experience.

Details

• Work in a Sterile Processing Department (SPD) supporting a 40-OR surgical and Labor/Delivery facility
• Mid shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• 13-week contract assignment
• No on-call requirements
• Uses STERIS equipment
• EPIC EMR
• May be required to float within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required, 3+ years preferred
• BLS certification required
• HSPA CRCST or CBSPD CSPDT certification required
• CER/CFER and CIS certifications encouraged
• License required if applicable
• Broad range of instrumentation experience required, including General, Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Laparoscopic, Gyn, Urology/Cystoscopy, and Dental/ENT
• Experience with robotic instrumentation strongly encouraged
• Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references required

• Complete review of MMC SPD core SOPs, which can be finished on first day on-site
• Work in a fast-paced environment alongside a large and diverse team
• Flexibility required to support coverage for weekends and holidays as needed
• Hospital-laundered scrubs provided; dedicated shoes required for inside the facility
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates accepted, though local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
