Senior Living Sous Chef

Our Sous Chefs are responsible for:

• Preparing all food items following proper recipes and procedures specified by the Executive Chef.
• Ensuring all food items are prepared in a timely fashion.
• Using batch-cooking methods when appropriate to ensure a fresh product.
• Visually inspecting all food that is ready to be served for proper plating.
• Regularly meeting with the Executive Chef to discuss menu preparation for the upcoming weeks and suggesting ways to improve food quality and efficient production.
• Maintaining kitchen sanitation and safety standards.
• Cleaning and sanitizing all work areas and equipment before and after use.
• Practicing correct food handling and food storage procedures.
• Maintaining documentation of all temperature charts and records.
• Completing assigned cleaning duties to ensure compliance with sanitary standards.
• Overseeing and directing all dining service team members in the absence of the Executive Chef.
• Training new staff using the Dining Services Training Manual.
• Accurately completing all food production records per company policies and federal/state guidelines.
• Contributing to team success through positive interactions with residents and staff.
• Ordering and maintaining stock.

If you are someone with:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality food preparation.
• Experience in scratch cooking in a high-volume, fine dining setting.
• Proficiency in computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, etc.

Actual pay rate within the stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and manual handling of materials up to 50 lbs. Regular bending, lifting, and reaching are also part of daily responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
