Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Location: Madison, WI. This position involves providing comprehensive emergency care to adult and pediatric patients in a Level IV Trauma Center and an Acute Stroke Ready Center. The role requires stabilization and transfer coordination for critically ill and injured patients, working within a large, high-volume department.

Job Details

• Location: Madison, WI
• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, starting 10/26/2026 and ending 01/25/2027
• Required Qualifications: RN license (WI or Compact), 2 years of emergency department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years, current certifications in BLS, PALS, ACLS (American Heart Association only), and TNCC.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I or Level II experience, community hospital experience, and telemetry interpretation skills.
• Additional Job Information:
  • Pass Telemetry test before clearance to start, with criteria including Identification of lethal rhythms in adult and pediatric exams, and a score of 80% or higher.
  • Experience with charting in Epic and familiarity with emergency and trauma procedures.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, manage complex clinical situations, and float as required.
  • Candidate must have recent acute care experience and be able to pass strict testing requirements.
• Special Procedures/Unit Details:
  • Provides emergent assessment and intervention for a diverse patient population across nearly 45,000 annual visits.
  • Serves as a designated Pediatric Ready Emergency Department and a Stroke Certified Facility.
  • Includes 40 exam rooms plus additional spaces, with surge capacity for high patient volumes.
  • Coordinates closely with ground ambulance and air medical services.
