Job Overview As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, theUniversity of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) has a reputationfor training best-in-class health care professionals and developingcutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health andclinical care of patients. In partnership with the UC Healthacademic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children’s HospitalMedical Center, College of Medicine’s faculty are transforming theworld of medicine every day. Lecturers at the University of Cincinnati are expected toteach scholarly and other professional or creative activities. Thisposition will be responsible for instructing upper-levelundergraduate students in the field of Evidence-based PublicHealth. These activities support the University of Cincinnati’smission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty,staff, and all of our activities. Essential Functions Instruct an upper-level course in the Medical SciencesBaccalaureate program in the field of Evidence-based PublicHealth. Develop or adapt a course syllabus that aligns withprogram standards, existing learning outcomes, and coursedescriptions. Setup, update, and actively maintain a course site on theUniversity’s learning management system. Ensure all instructional content complies with universitypolicies, relevant accreditation, and accessibility standards(e.g., ADA compliance) Develop and deliver effective educational material forclassroom instruction, including but not limited tolectures. Foster an engaging and respectful learning environmentfor all students. Develop, administer, and grade assessments for studentlearning, including but not limited to homework, quizzes, exams,projects, and presentations Provide timely, constructive, and actional feedback tostudents on coursework. Maintain accurate academic records and submit grades byuniversity deadlines. Provide scheduled office hours (virtual or in-person) tostudents. Identify and report at-risk students to relevant academicadvisors using institutional early-alert systems. Required Education Appropriate academic degree related to publichealth. Required Experience Demonstrated excellence in teaching and researchevidenced by peer reviews and publications. Additional Qualifications Considered Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research in thefield of public health.
