Credit & Collection Specialist

$8 - $27 per hour

A global organization in Somerset, NJ is seeking a Credit & Collections Representative to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in credit and collections, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Compensation: $27/hr Location: Onsite in Somerset, NJ

Key Responsibilities:

Review and manage orders placed on credit hold; determine next steps in alignment with company policy
Contact delinquent accounts and collaborate with Territory Managers to resolve outstanding issues
Respond to customer and internal inquiries regarding payments, discrepancies, and past-due notices
Investigate the creditworthiness of prospective customers and update/maintain appropriate credit limits
Recommend accounts for legal collections and prepare required documentation for review

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field OR Certified Credit Executive (CCE)
3-5 years of experience in credit and collections
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High attention to detail with strong analytical and data entry abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with ERP systems (PeopleSoft preferred) and credit reporting tools (Dun & Bradstreet, Experian)

Top Technical Skills:

ERP system expertise (PeopleSoft preferred)
Credit reporting tools such as D&B and Experian
Data entry accuracy and records management
