Registered Nurse Job

Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for 4 North to work nights at Community Hospital in Munster IN. The 4 North Unit is a 24 hour medical/surgical unit located on the fourth floor of the hospital. Patients over the age of 12 years may be admitted to this unit however the average age is 65. Most common types of patients admitted to 4 North include patients with respiratory conditions, fever, dehydration, renal failure, electrolyte imbalance, gastrointestinal conditions, post CVA, wound infection, orthopedic cases, and general surgical cases.

Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for implementing, directing, communicating, and documenting the nursing process.
• Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors, and associates.
• Practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Community Healthcare System policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy of PH by providing the highest quality care.
• Provides for the well-being of the community services the needs of all people and demonstrates the values: dignity, compassionate care, community quality, and stewardship.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
• BSN preferred.
• Obtains and maintains current certification as required in specialty areas.
• Obtains and maintains current CPR.
