Job Summary Electro/Mechanical Technician – Join our team to enhance production equipment with advanced troubleshooting, PLCs, Drives, Servo, HMI, CNC, and MES integration. Advocate for electrical safety (NFPA 79), mentor technicians, and drive continuous improvement. Apply now! Sign‑On Bonus: $3,000 total for eligible new hires ($1,500 after 30 days, $1,500 after 60 days). Primary Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair mechanical functions, drive units, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, PLCs, ladder diagrams, AC/DC circuits, sensors, switches, motor controls, servo controllers, safety circuits including E‑stops, light curtains, floor mats, safety relays and switches. Use PC skills to upgrade troubleshooting and machine functions via touch screen controls and machine operation software (including G‑code & M‑code programming). Use hand tools and machine shop equipment; apply all test equipment for multi‑trade repairs of production equipment, dust collection, and material handling equipment (pallet lifts, fork trucks). Evaluate equipment for repairs, enhancements or upgrades; complete work as needed. Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled and document finished work. Contact vendors, order parts, and maintain inventory of replacement parts for all equipment. Implement machines by rigging, leveling, and modifying facilities (air, hydraulics, dust collection, safety) to prepare machines for production. Fabricate and install all needed fixturing, guarding, and machine parts – design, layout, sheet metal, welding, machine shop, carpentry, painting. Work with Management to schedule and complete requested work. Repair pneumatic drills and screw guns, routers, saw motors and bearing assemblies for linear slides and spindles. Assist in the deployment of TPM objectives. Qualifications and Skills Advanced troubleshooting of PLC and electromechanical aspects of manufacturing equipment. Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues under pressure and prioritize repairs. Read mechanical, fluid power, electrical, and building prints. Use testing equipment – electrical, mechanical, and fluid power. Self‑motivated and able to support production independently. Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and data interpretation. Broad knowledge of PLCs, electrical principles, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, machine piping, HVAC, dust collection. Experience with hand, power, shop tools and safety practices (lockout/tagout, PPE). High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years of related experience. Capable of working alone and in a team; familiar with panel and machine building practices. Physical Requirements Some heavy lifting to replace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc., at low frequency; provided equipment for moving heavy components. Occasional squatting, crawling, reaching above shoulders, kneeling, and balancing. Repetitive actions: simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation of both hands. Outside work, working with chemicals, using ladders and platforms, confined spaces, wearing proper PPE, handling hazardous waste, working near energized circuits and hot equipment.
