Compliance Manager

Compliance Manager Location: Kansas City, MO, US, 64106 Role Summary The Compliance Manager will provide guidance and input on employment-related policies, ensuring the company is compliant with federal, state and local employment regulations. This position will be responsible for EEO/Affirmative Action compliance, including the development and implementation of all plans, and will provide subject matter expertise to HR and operational leaders. The role also oversees records management and business and contractor licensing, supporting the strategy, vision and values of JEDunn. Key Responsibilities – Core Manage the development and implementation of affirmative action programs to ensure regulatory compliance, including federal, state and local reporting. Prepare OFCCP, DOL Wage and Hour and other audit submissions, coordinating with HR and attorneys. Lead annual auditing processes such as pay equity, officer survey, and federal report filings (VETS‑4212, EEO‑1, etc.). Lead the organization’s compliance program, managing the Ethics Hotline, supporting the Compliance and Policy Committee, and auditing related materials. Lead the records management function, ensuring compliance with retention schedules, legal holds, document disposal, and electronic records management. Coordinate subcontractor reporting under FAR, Davis‑Bacon Act and Buy American Act compliance. Manage DOE, eFOCI and FSO processes, overseeing clearance and subcontractor approvals on applicable projects. Maintain knowledge of existing and proposed federal, state and local laws. Maintain a compliance calendar and documentation of compliance activities. Partner with HR to ensure compliance with all federal and state posting requirements. Assist in developing and implementing compliance related policies and procedures. Coordinate with Learning & Development to provide necessary compliance training. Partner with Talent Acquisition regarding applicant tracking and data integrity processes. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Accurate, complete, and timely work performance. Effective presentation skills; able to present complex information clearly to cross‑functional stakeholders. Advanced verbal and written communication. Proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations. Strong negotiation skills and proactive communication. Ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders. High level of critical thinking, analytical skill and attention to detail. Professionalism, integrity and leadership. Organizational skills – able to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and meet deadlines. Listening skills and ability to solve complex problems quickly. Adaptability to change and dynamic situations. Sound assessment and recommendation capabilities. Executive presence and confident public speaking. Education Bachelor’s degree in business administration, liberal arts or related field (Required). Relevant experience will be considered. Experience Prefer 8+ years in compliance management. Prefer 5+ years with employment law compliance and affirmative action plan development. Working Environment Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. May require periods of overnight travel.
