Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description Schedule: Monday – Friday, Part‑time 20‑25 hours/week. Length of assignment: Temporary, until July 20 – covering an employee’s Leave of Absence. Preferred skillset: Teller and New Accounts experience, preferably with community banking background. Bilingual English‑Spanish preferred. ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST is responsible for the following duties: Process vendor invoices accurately and promptly Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents Verify approvals, proper account coding and documentation Prepare and process payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers) Reconcile vendor statements and assist with resolving discrepancies Maintain accounts payable records and filing systems Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status Assist with month‑end closings and AP accruals Follow established accounting procedures Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies Required qualifications for the position include: High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in accounts payable or general accounting preferred Familiarity with AvidAscend or comparable accounting software Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic Office applications Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Good organizational and communication skills Ability to quickly learn processes and work independently Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Professional handling of confidential financial information Preferred qualifications for the position include: Experience with high‑volume invoice processing Knowledge of GAAP basics Experience in a corporate or shared‑services environment Bilingual English – Spanish Community banking background Pay Rate Range $23.00 – $26.00/hour.
