We are seeking an experienced Executive Stewardfor The National WWII Museum located in New Orleans, LA. The National WWII Museum, one of the top attractions in New Orleans, shares the story of the American experience in WWII, why it was fought, how it was won, and its lasting impact, inspiring visitors through lessons of courage and freedom. About the job Join a role where you'll play a vital part in the Culinary Leadership Team, overseeing the nonfood production areas that keep a high performing kitchen operating at its best. You'll manage the dish room, storage spaces, and utility areas while upholding exceptional standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and equipment care. You'll also take ownership of the inventory, organization, and distribution of essential banqueting items—including china, silver, glassware, and linen - ensuring the Culinary and Banquet teams are always fully supported. As the leader of the Stewarding Department, you'll guide a diverse team, maintain efficient workflow throughout the kitchen, and contribute directly to outstanding food preparation and service. In this role, you'll be a key partner in the overall food and beverage operation and an essential member of the Culinary Leadership Team. Accountable for managing people, setting direction and deploying resources; typically is responsible for performance evaluation, pay reviews and hire/fire decisions. Results are primarily achieved through the work of others and typically depend on the manager's ability to influence and negotiate with parts of the organization. Progression within Career Band reflects acquisition of broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and process and people leadership capabilities. Leads stewarding staff, sanitation operations, equipment maintenance, inventory control, waste removal, catering support, deep-cleaning projects, storage area upkeep, safety compliance, cross-functional communication, reporting, and emergency response. Lead the Stewarding Department and ensure smooth, efficient kitchen support operations Maintain top tier standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and workplace safety Oversee inventory, storage, and distribution of all non-food service items Ensure all Stewarding and Kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning Support Culinary Leadership and contribute to outstanding guest satisfaction Collaborate across departments to meet operational needs and service goalsWork safely in a fast-paced environment that may involve lifting up to 50 pounds Maintain schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays Requirements Education Requirement: Associate degree or equivalent experience Management Experience: 2 years Related Experience: 2 years What we offer Compensation is fair and equitable, partially determined by a candidate's education level or years of relevant experience.
