About the Role

Omicrown is seeking a fully fluent Chinese-speaking Legal Intake Specialist to join our New York office. This role is responsible for speaking with potential clients, gathering key case information, identifying whether a matter may be a fit for the firm, and helping move qualified leads through the intake process.

This position is a strong fit for someone with prior law firm experience, excellent phone communication skills, and the ability to handle client conversations with professionalism, urgency, and empathy. Attorney and non-attorney candidates will both be considered. The most important qualifications are full Chinese fluency, law firm experience, organization, and comfort speaking with potential clients.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and follow up with potential clients
• Conduct intake conversations in Chinese
• Gather key facts, documents, contact information, and case details
• Enter and update client and lead information in the firm’s CRM or case management system
• Screen potential matters based on firm intake criteria
• Schedule consultations or follow-up calls when appropriate
• Communicate with attorneys, case managers, and other team members regarding potential new matters
• Follow up consistently with leads who have not yet retained
• Maintain a professional, reassuring, and organized intake process
• Help ensure no qualified lead falls through the cracks

Qualifications

• Full professional fluency in Chinese required
• Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
• Prior intake, receptionist, paralegal, case manager, legal assistant, or client services experience preferred
• Strong phone communication skills
• Ability to ask clear questions and gather accurate information
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable using computers, phone systems, CRMs, case management software, or similar tools
• Professional, reliable, and responsive
• Able to work in person in New York

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling legal intake for a plaintiff-side law firm
• Experience with personal injury, employment, immigration, family, or civil litigation intake
• Experience using legal software or CRM systems
• Prior sales, client onboarding, or high-volume call experience
• Ability to identify urgency and escalate important matters quickly
• Attorney, paralegal, or legal assistant background is a plus, but not required

Compensation

Compensation will range from $100,000-$250,000/year depending on experience, language ability, law firm background, and overall fit for the role.
