HR Manager | Heine Brothers' Coffee | Louisville, KY

Position Summary: We're looking for an HR Manager who thrives on variety and loves making people's work lives smoother and more supported. You'll be the friendly, go-to person for managers and employees across our locations, handling day-to-day questions, keeping our practices compliant and organized, and helping us hire and welcome great people. This is a great seat for someone early in their HR career who wants real responsibility and a chance to learn HR in a multi-location, unionized environment, with leadership support along the way.

What You'll Do:

• Employee Relations: Be the first point of contact for employee and manager concerns. Document cases, gather facts, and coach managers on fair, consistent, well-documented progressive discipline.

• Labor Relations Support: Manage grievances through the early contractual steps, track deadlines, and apply our collective bargaining agreement accurately day to day.

• Recruiting & Onboarding Communications: Manage job postings, screening, and interview coordination. Own the new-hire experience on the communications side, including welcome emails, first-day information, and HR onboarding content, in partnership with our Payroll & Benefits Administrator, who handles system setup and enrollment.

• Manager Support: Answer policy questions and provide guidance and templates so HR practices are consistent across locations.

• Wellness & Engagement: Lead wellness initiatives, employee recognition, and activities that make work more human and connected.

• HR Compliance & Records: Keep policies up to date, help us stay in line with employment laws, and maintain clean, organized, audit-ready HR records and HRIS data.

What You'll Bring:

• 1-3 years of HR experience, ideally in a generalist, HR coordinator, or employee relations role

• Sharp judgment and a strong sense of what needs to stay confidential

• Excellent written communication and a friendly, approachable vibe

• A knack for juggling lots of tasks, keeping details straight, and meeting deadlines

• Comfort coaching managers and having direct conversations with kindness

• Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly, including a collective bargaining agreement

• A love for building connections and improving the employee experience

• Comfort with HR systems and willingness to learn new tools (Harri a plus)
