Ophthalmology Sales Manager

We are seeking motivated and results‑driven sales specialists to join the team and help grow the division. The Ophthalmology Sales Manager (OSM) will promote, influence, and sell Topcon’s Diagnostic and Refractive instrument platform in a designated territory (Mid‑Atlantic), and must reside in New Jersey. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Promote and sell clinical diagnostic instruments such as OCTs, retinal cameras, topographers, refraction systems, and Topcon’s Harmony Healthcare Digital Management System. Develop an annual business plan that is updated quarterly, including clear action items and strategies to achieve quarterly and annual quotas. Plan territory and conduct regular activities to maximize efficiency of time to prospect, cultivate new accounts, develop current accounts, obtain orders, and meet sales goals. Communicate with sales management and various departments (Customer Service, Product Service, Marketing, Finance) on competitive issues, territory status, order status, and complaints following the QMS processes. Conduct routine instrument demonstrations weekly, tailoring presentations and materials for specific customer needs. Serve as a consultant, source of information, problem solver, and educator for customers, maintaining high‑quality account profiles in the CRM. Perform special projects or duties for enrichment and company benefit. Collaborate with Topcon sales and marketing teams to uncover and win opportunities collectively and promote Topcon Healthcare. Requirements & Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience selling capital equipment into ophthalmology practices, ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), hospital systems, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), government and national accounts. Business‑to‑business sales experience with a comprehensive understanding of the sales process and ethical business practices. Strong C‑level call skills, strategic selling skills, and evidence of top performance in prior sales roles. Understanding of health insurance and payers preferred. Strong presentation, business acumen, leadership qualities, sales metrics, performance measures, and technical indicators. Excellent interpersonal, client‑relations, negotiation, conflict‑resolution, presentation, and creative problem‑solving abilities. Must reside in New Jersey. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Travel at least 50% of the time, including overnight trips, occasional weekend and holiday trips; must be within 1.5hours of a major U.S. airport. Ability to work remotely. Lifting and lowering boxes and instruments between levels (25‑100lbs). Standing for extended periods (up to 8hours) during trade shows. Compensation & Benefits Base pay: $100,000 annualized (projected range). Car allowance: $600 monthly. Sales incentives and commissions.
