Job Summary As a sales associate you will be the face of our company. You get to highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services. Must be capable of learning about what we sell and are able to articulate our purpose in a manner that is educational, insightful, and professional. Duties and Responsibilities Customer service – Proactively engage and make a connection with customers; ask questions and listen to their needs; direct customers to merchandise; inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card; provide premier customer service; cooperate, build inclusive and respectful relationships; take accountability for outcomes. Organization – Maintain store appearance. Sales – Cross‑sell products; know store layout; suggest latest trends and promotions based on individual needs; upsell; learn product features and stay updated; use POS system for cash, discounts, gift cards, credit/debit cards, and cash handling procedures. Inventory – Keeper of merchandise; complete all inventory processes; ensure merchandise is checked in and ticketed; participate in periodic inventories. Dependability – Adhere to assigned schedule; complete assignments; complete paperwork, reports and reconciliation; other duties as assigned. Qualifications Product knowledge – Basic knowledge of products and merchandise. Retail experience preferred but not required. Communication skills – Strong interpersonal and communication skills; reading, writing, interpreting instructional documents; telephone etiquette. Mathematical skills – Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Reasoning ability – Able to multi‑task, stay attentive, flexible to customer needs, work as part of a team, take initiative, work independently. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. No experience required. Physical Demands & Work Environment This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision: close vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. up to 50 lbs. Work typically performed indoors, may be assigned outdoors depending on location.
