Sr. Specialist, Process Manufacturing Engineer – Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer Job Code: 38406 Job Location: Canoga Park, CA – Onsite Job Schedule: 9x80 – 80 hours worked over 80 days, with every other Friday off Job Description This position will be responsible for mechanical component manufacturing, assembly, and integration into rocket engine and power systems products. The Senior Associate, Manufacturing Engineer will work with general oversight and manage large projects or processes inside and outside the immediate job area, providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees. They will design and plan tooling, material handling, sequencing operations, and specify procedures. Essential Functions Managing processes in accordance with Lean methodology, including process certification, improvement methods (Kaizen, 3P, VSM, etc.). Preparing, developing, and managing manufacturing plans, risk assessments, and proposals targeting customer and business goals. Developing rework dispositions and work instructions for various components, assemblies, and materials. Developing and implementing manufacturing and assembly process improvements. Determining tooling requirements to support dimensional requirements, machine loading, setups, and hardware handling instructions. Change management: Utilizing engineering and business software (Creo CAD, Windchill PLM, Oracle MRP & MES, MS Office applications, other CAD/virtual manufacturing tools) to monitor design configuration updates, specifications, and procedure changes, then incorporating necessary changes to manufacturing support items (MBOMs, work instructions, special tooling) to maintain alignment and compliance. Supporting design change reviews. Tight tolerance assembly/stack‑up dimensioning support: Determining complex design GD&T for assemblies, verifying sealing surfaces, and ensuring drawings meet specifications. Meeting tooling and equipment requirements. Performing risk assessments to eliminate and communicate hazards to personnel, environment, hardware, and facility and to management. A small amount of travel may be required depending on actual assignment. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of related experience, or Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of related experience, or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications Pressure test experience. Compensation & Benefits In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California (and other specified regions) is $96,000 – $178,000.
