Operations Supervisor

Operations Supervisor Location: Chattanooga, TN Pay: $53,317.95 per year Overview At First Student, operation leaders keep our locations running smoothly. In this role you supervise day‑to‑day operations of our buses, schedule maintenance and fueling, and support drivers to meet safety and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate and promote a safe work environment. Ensure drivers submit required paperwork and route descriptions. Coordinate field trips, schedule fueling and mechanical work, and monitor safety practices. Assist Location Manager during training sessions, meetings, and disciplinary proceedings. Interact with school officials at smaller bus locations; drive bus when necessary. Support dispatcher and manage small locations under the Location Manager’s direction. Verify routes meet state, local, and vendor requirements; review timesheets before payroll submission. Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in the transportation industry. Strong supervisory, communication, and organizational skills. Good interpersonal and computer skills. Subject to DOT drug testing and physical examination. Knowledge of DOT Regulation49CFRPart40 (marijuana prohibition).
