MANAGING CONSULTANT - TECH & IMPL L1(CONTRACT)

Role Purpose Managing Consultants are expected to sell and manage the delivery of complex consulting propositions within their area of expertise, driving measurable value for clients. They will also be responsible for leading development of consulting solutions and providing support to practice growth and development. The role is engaged in building strong client relationships and managing large engagements, accounts, or designing and leading complex consulting programs. The Managing Consultant may lead a team of consultants and manage quality and internal compliance in business operations, while achieving high personal billability. Duties & Responsibilities Consulting Execution Achieves utilisation target Acts as an ambassador for Wipro principles and values Account‑focused leader in the business; program manager or equivalent who manages teams of consultants/work streams/projects/programs Client‑focused and tenacious in solving client issues and achieving client objectives; demonstrates experience as a well‑rounded consultant Flexible in approach and coordinates resources with expertise in various areas Responsible for budgets and ensuring quality of deliverables Trusted advisor to senior clients, securing positive feedback from client executives and sponsors Decisive, directive delivery focus with a can‑do attitude; demonstrates hard and soft skills Coaches, mentors, and motivates team and client staff, building trust and confidence through focus on quality and delivery Business Development Ensures high levels of individual and team utilisation per goal setting process Manages a personal sales pipeline to support revenue targets (personal and practice) Manages a revenue target as agreed with manager, selling laterally and vertically to multiple clients Identifies leads and converts them into opportunities and proposals Maintains an effective network of client contacts at executive buying level; leads sales activities and meetings Leads marketing and prospecting activities to populate the sales funnel Closes new projects and/or extensions with minimal partner support Proactively seeks opportunities to develop revenue in existing and new areas Drives proposal creation and presales activities for new engagements by leveraging Wipro’s global footprint and end‑to‑end consulting capability Thought Leadership Recognised as an industry thought leader, sharing knowledge with GCG/Wipro and relevant channels Uses case studies and track records across Wipro in sales efforts Presents thought leadership at external industry forums and sales campaigns, demonstrating monetisation through pipeline building Contribution to Practice/Wipro Delivers Wipro administrative tasks in a timely manner (timesheets, appraisals, expenses, etc.) Contributes to internal initiatives, holds people accountable for leveraging IP and knowledge assets from the central repository, and promotes reuse Ensures engagement teams contribute tools, methods and assets, information sources and IP to the knowledge management platform; works to improve practice policies, procedures, frameworks Creates reusable IP/assets, manages line team career development through training and performance assessments, and monitors talent attrition Encourages collaboration with other consulting and delivery teams to design tailored client solutions Shares industry trends, develops solutions, applies innovation, and authors published content Strategic Objectives & Metrics Deliver growth in consulting revenues by achieving business performance against quarterly/annual targets, improving quality, and leading end‑to‑end sales cycles for select accounts Generate impact on larger Wipro business through GCG deals and engagements, enhancing downstream revenue and confirmed impact Grow market positioning for Consulting and Wipro through client relationships, thought leadership, and digital leadership Mandatory Skills & Experience ETRM Energy Trading and Risk Management Experience: >10 years Compensation & Benefits The expected compensation for this role ranges from $100,000 to $185,000, based on geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. The role is eligible for Wipro’s standard benefits, including a full range of medical and dental benefits, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), and other mandatory paid and unpaid leave options.
