Production Operator

Job Title: Production Chemist (3rd Shift Rotating) Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Production Chemist to work the 3rd shift from 6pm to 6:30am, with a rotating schedule including two weekends a month. The successful candidate will initially train on the 1st shift (Monday through Friday) until ready to transition to the rotating night shift. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company with significant investment in production capabilities.
Responsibilities

• Perform chemical synthesis on a multi-kilo scale and execute tasks via batch records.
• Maintain documentation standards to meet GMP requirements by recording charges/transfers, acknowledging actions as performed, and documenting key observations related to specific operations.
• Set up, operate, and clean all plant equipment, including reactors, centrifuges, filter dryers, shelf dryers, and milling equipment.
• Participate in staging raw materials, loading raw materials into equipment, and unloading intermediates and products from dryers.
• Read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively in group settings.
• Collaborate with Chemical Engineers to produce R&D API.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in performing chemical synthesis and maintaining GMP documentation standards.
• Experience with setting up and operating plant equipment such as reactors and centrifuges.
• Ability to read batch records and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic math proficiency.
• Experience in a production facility, preferably in chemical, pharmaceutical, or food industries.
• Willingness to handle chemicals with safety controls in place.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in chemistry or engineering preferred, but HS Diploma with relevant industry experience is acceptable.
• Experience with SAP and working in pharmaceutical manufacturing is a plus.
• Capability to use a respirator and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with flexibility and adaptability.

Work Environment
The role involves working the 3rd shift from 6pm to 6:30am with two weekends a month on a rotating basis. Training will occur on the 1st shift before transitioning to nights. The company is experiencing significant growth, with a $15 million investment in production capabilities and plans to expand the facility. The work environment includes a small production area, an R&D lab connected to a QC lab, and the opportunity to progress within the chemistry or production field. The position offers a 10% differential for 2nd shift after six months.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
