Labor & Employment Associate: High-Stakes Litigation & Counseling

MB Attorney Search is conducting a search for a Labor & Employment Associate to join the Chicago office of a well-established national law firm with a highly regarded management-side labor and employment practice. The group handles a sophisticated mix of employment litigation, restrictive covenant and trade secret disputes, wage and hour matters, labor relations issues, and day-to-day counseling work for employers across a variety of industries. This opportunity is particularly well suited for a mid-level associate seeking substantial responsibility and exposure to fast-moving, high-stakes matters within a collaborative national platform. The ideal candidate will have approximately 3–4 years of labor and employment experience , including strong exposure to litigation matters in state and federal court. Responsibilities Employment litigation and workplace disputes. Restrictive covenant, noncompete, and trade secret litigation. Wage and hour class or collective actions. Discovery management, motion practice, and drafting pleadings. Participation in TRO or preliminary injunction proceedings. Employment counseling, labor relations, or OSHA-related matters. Candidates should possess strong legal writing and analytical skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple matters in a busy practice environment. Prior experience working directly with clients and contributing to case strategy is highly valued. Qualifications Approximately 3–4 years of relevant labor & employment experience at a law firm. Strong academic credentials. Excellent written and oral advocacy skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within collaborative legal teams. Active bar admission in Illinois or the ability to obtain admission promptly. Expected base compensation is in the approximately $260,000–$310,000 range, depending on experience and qualifications.
