Prep/Line Cook

The Restaurant at Embers, is actively searching for a creative,fast-paced, and professional Prep/Line Cook to join our CulinaryTeam. Our restaurant offers breakfast, lunch anddinner 7 days a weekin season for hotel guests and locals. Tucked in the quaint mountain town of Blowing Rock, North Carolina,The Embers Hotel offers 36 guest rooms and suites with full-servicerestaurant and al fresco dining patio. Managed by Hay Creek Hotels,this boutique location embodies a fireside retreat with 4-star servicein an approachable, natural setting. $17-$19 per hour. Job Summary: Work closely with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to ensure thatall items needed are in stock. Maintain daily pars and placeinventory orders as needed. Regularly make table visits to ensure guest satisfaction. Practice and enforce proper food storage safety, allergyawareness, compliance with health department code, and all othersafety and security policies and procedures. Oversee all work stations, often assisting in completing dailyprep and working on each station. Enforce quality control of food at all times. Coordinate with theSous Chef and Executive Chef on proper food preparation, execution,and plate presentation. Maintain cleanliness of workstation, kitchen area, and walk in cooler/freezer. Assist in training other culinary team members as needed. Participate in the execution of special events, private parties,and banquets. Experience and Skills: High School diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of recent Culinary experience in a high volume, fullservice restaurant. Inspired to work with food and passionate about our hospitality industry. Open to learn new skills. Must continuously demonstrate a positive, upbeat andcustomer-focused attitude.
