Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
- Experience or strong interest in teaching elementary-aged children with diverse needs
- Ability to collaborate with support staff, specialists, and families
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to elementary students within a self-contained classroom focused on academics and life skills
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address both curriculum standards and students’ personal growth
- Assess, track, and report student progress toward academic, behavioral, and social goals
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and supportive technologies to enhance learning
- Collaborate with other educators and therapists to ensure the best outcomes for each student
- Foster a safe, caring, and respectful classroom community
- Engage with families to communicate student successes and handle concerns as they arise
