Bring your expertise and dedication to this full-time, onsite position, working 37.5 hours per week alongside a committed, caring team. Your role will focus on providing personalized academic and life skills instruction for elementary students within a structured, supportive classroom.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) endorsement required
- Current Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in elementary grades highly valued
- Strong commitment to differentiated instruction and individualized educational plans
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted, engaging lessons aligned with IEP goals and state standards
- Develop and implement individualized academic and life skills strategies for students
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student growth and participation
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paras, support staff, and families
- Collect and maintain accurate data, participate in IEP meetings, and progress monitoring
- Implement evidence-based behavioral management techniques
