Job Description Our Assistant Operations Manager provider is responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of daily airport operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning across various departments like ground handling, customer service, and security. This role involves coordinating operational activities, managing staff, and implementing procedures to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards. You will play a key role in problem-solving and decision-making during operational challenges, and collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including airline representatives and airport authorities. Also, you will help develop operational strategies, staff training, and process improvement initiatives. What It's Like To Work As An Assistant Operations Manager You like working as a team, toward a common goal Assist in overseeing daily operational activities across various airport service departments Support the Operations Manager in coordinating and managing staff, ensuring efficient workflow Implement operational policies and procedures to enhance service quality and efficiency Contribute to the training and development of operational staff in line with company standards Monitor operational performance and suggest improvements to processes and techniques Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and passenger satisfaction Enjoy working with internal and external customers worldwide You have very strong customer service skills You have a great attention to detail You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks Like to build long-term relationships with your customers Physical activity may include: Position is generally sedentary, sitting for long periods of time, with occasional mobility in an office environment Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by an office environment Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of adaptive technologies or methods as necessary Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means Tasks may involve repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and or fingers due to continuous typing or writing Qualifications Minimum age of 18 years old Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents 3 plus years' experience in airport operations or a related field, with a background in supervisory roles Strong understanding of airport procedures and regulatory requirements Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in operational planning and staff management Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays Knowledge of the aviation industry Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets Ability to pass a drug screen Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable) Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
