Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 Years Required License: State or Compact License Required Certifications: BLS Required, ACLS Preferred, PALS Preferred Must-Have: Driver's License Required Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in medical surgical nursing. The shift is a 3x12-hour day schedule from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical setting. Candidates with previous charge experience are preferred. Experience with a patient ratio of 5 is required. Charting experience in Meditech is preferred. The nurse will potentially float to other areas as needed. Candidates should be open to accommodating block schedules. The position is open to local candidates within an 80-mile radius. The COVID-19 vaccine is required with medical or religious exemptions only. The flu vaccine is also required with acceptable medical or religious exemptions and declinations. Candidates will be part of an interdisciplinary team. The daily census in this role generally averages around 20 patients. Nursing care will be provided to adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. This position requires various nursing skills, including managing ports, blood product administration, and monitoring telemetry. Qualified candidates must possess strong time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The registered nurse will be responsible for patient assessments, implementing care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams. The role also includes patient education and support for a variety of medical conditions.
