Position: Sterile Processing Supervisor

Shift:

Monday - Friday, 3 PM - 11:30 PM

Position Summary:

The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the planning, directing, organizing, monitoring, and staffing of departmental services. This role is subject to policies, budgets, objectives, and directives mandated by regulatory agencies. The supervisor will coordinate all resources and services within the Sterile Processing Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all departmental services and resources.
• Manage administrative duties including human resource management, payroll, and scheduling.
• Oversee financial management and purchasing.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards and hospital requirements.
• Lead quality monitoring and improvement efforts.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, training, and competencies for team members.
• Maintain communications and relationships with Surgical Services and other departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician
• 2 years of management or supervisory experience
• CER - Certified Endoscope Reprocessor

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in science or a related field
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current CIS Certified Instrument Specialist
• 2 years of healthcare experience in Surgical Services and/or Sterile Processing

• Attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Proficient in standard office equipment and computer applications, including MS Office and EMR systems.
• Ability to work varied shifts as required.

Schedule Requirements:

This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The supervisor may need to work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may also be necessary to respond to organizational needs.

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
• Maintain a sitting posture for extended periods.
• Occasionally stand and walk within the work area.
• Frequent fine-finger movements for tasks such as typing.
• Close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data.

Work Environment Exposures:

This position may expose the employee to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and various cleaning chemicals. Protective measures will be in place to ensure the health and safety of all employees.
