Geriatric Nurse

Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of older adults to identify physical, psychological, social, and functional health needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the client’s medical conditions and personal preferences. Administer medications safely and monitor for therapeutic effects, adverse reactions, and potential drug interactions. Provide skilled nursing care, including wound management, vital sign monitoring, and chronic disease management. Promote independence by supporting activities of daily living while preserving the client’s dignity and autonomy. Educate patients and family members on disease management, medication adherence, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle practices. Monitor cognitive and emotional well-being, identifying early signs of depression, dementia, or other age-related concerns. Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care. Implement fall-prevention and safety measures to create a secure and supportive home environment. Advocate for the rights, comfort, and overall well-being of older adults, ensuring compassionate and person-centered care.
