Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant (Hybrid) Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year Location: Hybrid; company offers comprehensive benefits. A bit about us We are a privately held exploration and production company operating in the natural resources sector, focusing on energy and natural resources. With over 250,000 acres in the Powder River Basin, we operate multiple entities and are committed to leveraging cutting‑edge technology and innovative strategies to maximize production and profits. Responsibilities Manage the month‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks. Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial data and provide insights to management on trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax filings, SEC reporting, and other financial reporting requirements. Collaborate with other departments, including operations, legal, and finance, to ensure that all financial data is accurate and up‑to‑date. Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA certification preferred. At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on the energy oil and gas industry. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Experience with month‑end close processes, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other departments. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software. Benefits 100% paid comprehensive healthcare plan.
