Medical Receptionist

Administrative Duties

• Answer and manage incoming phone calls, triage patient inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
• Maintain physician schedules
• Prepare, scan, fax, and file medical records and documents

Patient Coordination

• Greet and check in patients in a professional and courteous manner
• Verify patient information, insurance details, and referrals
• Communicate appointment instructions and follow-up care information as directed
• Assist with patient forms and documentation

Medical Records & Documentation

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems)
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all confidentiality regulations

Billing & Insurance Support

• Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes
• Address patient billing questions or direct to appropriate personnel

Office Operations

• Coordinate to order and maintain office and medical supplies
• Coordinate communication between providers, patients, laboratories, and specialists
• Support quality improvement initiatives and office procedures

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in a medical office preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset

Skills & Competencies

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Excellent attendance

Work Environment

• Fast-paced medical office setting
• Frequent interaction with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff
• May require sitting for extended periods and frequent computer use

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and move within the office environment
• Manual dexterity for computer and office equipment use

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
