Assembler

Job Description Assembler in the Motive Equipment location will produce quality components for locomotives under Wabtec’s ISO9001 certified quality management system. Responsibilities Assemble components according to blueprints, routers, work orders, checklists, and specifications to build, assemble, and test parts and finished goods that meet quality standards. Accurately complete assembly checklists. Monitor stock bins in the work area and report stock needs to the Shop Floor Lead(s). Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures. Adhere to the Wabtec Code of Conduct. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic math skills. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to work effectively unsupervised. Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues and create solutions. Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement process changes. Ability to understand and interpret drawings, BOMs, and procedures. Physical Demands Hear. Read, write, and communicate in English. Stand and/or walk for 6 hours at a time, with minimal breaks. Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently or up to 50 pounds with assistance. Observe small handwriting, labels, and components with adequate vision. Operate forklift and overhead crane. Wear safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection in designated areas. Be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties. Engage in daily face‑to‑face interaction and communication with production line employees and management. Work Environment Produce in a shop floor setting with variable temperatures and exposure to fumes and noise. Compensation and Benefits The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $18.50 – $20.00 per hour. The base pay may be influenced by training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and location. Benefits include health, welfare, and retirement plans.
