Medical Assistant

Location: 696 Hampshire Rd Suite 200 Westlake Village, Ca 91361 Also float to this 2nd location: 6801 Park Terrace, LA 90045 (at least 1-2 days/week)

Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday 8 hours, 7:30-3:30 / 8:00-4:00 / 8:30-4:30 Weekends/Holidays Required: Possibly with LA RAMS sports support

Ideal Candidates: experienced MA who knows how to draw blood, is personable, and has excellent customer service.

Required Qualifications:

• HSD/GED
• Flu vaccinated (no exemptions/no declinations)
• Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries
• 2 years working as an MA in an outpatient clinic
• Proficiency with blood/lab draws and venipuncture
• BLS (AHA or ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years working as an MA in Ortho or Sports Medicine
• Experience with CS-Link/Epic
• Experience with Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions
• Phlebotomy certification
• Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
• Casting experience

Job Duties:

• Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds, and record in the medical record
• Assist with tracking and monitoring department-specific data
• Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice
• Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs
• Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines
• Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by the provider
• Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by the provider
