Experience in the Medical/Surgical setting with cardiac monitoring required. This is a very small unit/facility, rural experience is preferred. Must be able to work independently/Hit the ground running! Client will not consider any candidate who resides within 50 miles of facility. Dress Code: Personal scrubs of any color. Patient Population: Newborn - Geriatric. RN/Patient Ratio: 5:1, depending on acuity. Higher acuity PCU patients would be 3:1 or 4:1. This is for both day and night shifts.

This is an MS, TELE and PCU NEED. TRAVELERS UPLOADED TO THIS NEED MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH EACH SPECIALTY. 3+ years PCU, Med/Surg, Tele experience [Required]. Tele experience – [Required]. Basic dysrhythmia test [required] in profile. Previous travel experience – [Highly Preferred]. Rural/small facility experience – [Highly Preferred]. Traveler must have their own vehicle for this assignment. Perm address must be included in profile.

An RN in a Telemetry unit cares for patients who require continuous cardiac monitoring but do not need ICU-level care. Using ECG and vital sign monitoring systems, telemetry nurses track heart rhythms and detect early signs of cardiac instability. They interpret EKG strips, respond to alarms, administer medications and treatments, and provide rapid intervention during cardiac events. Telemetry RNs commonly care for post-cardiac procedure patients and those with heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. The unit serves as a step-down from ICU or step-up from medical-surgical floors, requiring strong assessment skills, quick clinical judgment, and ongoing patient and family education for recovery and discharge.
