Curriculum Designer 1, RLA PD 6-12 (Multiple Positions)

Location: Hattie Mae White Department: Curriculum Design RLA/SS/DL Area: District Wide Contract Months: 12 Salary Range: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 Academic Year: 26-27 Job Summary Develops high‑quality secondary literacy curriculum and job‑embedded professional learning for grades 6–12, aligned to district standards. Partners with key stakeholders to strengthen instructional practices, ensure coherence across grade levels, and support students in building the skills needed for rigorous, grade‑level content and long‑term academic success. Major Duties & Responsibilities Designs and develops job‑embedded professional learning aligned to curriculum, including slides, activities, and assessments. Supports development of teacher‑facing curriculum materials aligned to district instructional expectations. Evaluates curriculum for rigor, clarity, and cultural relevance. Participates in PLC/brain trust sessions to refine curriculum and instructional practices. Attends and contributes to TEKS‑aligned professional development. Collaborates with teachers and leaders to support implementation. Education Bachelor's Degree Work Experience At least 3 years teaching or district experience. Skills and Licensing/Certification Software: Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Office Teacher Certification (preferred) Equipment: Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier) Leadership Responsibilities Level 1 – No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff. Additional Information Work complexity/independent judgement: Decisions made with greater freedom and discretion, recommendations subject to approval, and review of routine matters. Budget authority: No budget development activity required. Problem solving: Recommended new solutions, review decisions on routine matters, and generate new ideas. Impact of decisions: Significant impact across divisions, potential risks, or efficiencies, with serious consequences for errors. Communication and interactions: Collaborate and solve problems with others, provide initial screening/negotiations, and interact with customers, senior staff, and managers. Customer relationships: Anticipate needs, champion opportunities for new services, and establish service standards and feedback mechanisms.
