Job Overview Department: 35206 Advocate Condell Medical Center - Central 1 Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiology Schedule: Day shift, 12‑hour shifts (7:00am to 7:30pm), every other weekend with rotating holidays. Hours per week: 36. Full‑time. Salary range: $38.20–$57.30 per hour. Responsibilities Engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes. Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team to influence outcomes. Uphold and promote a culture of safety, continuously evaluating patient, team, and unit outcomes. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures. Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. Pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications. Practice ethical decision‑making in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics. Delegate appropriately to other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel. Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation. Float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area as needed. Qualifications Graduation from a Board of Nursing‑approved nursing education program. Active registered nurse (RN) license or multi‑state compact with privileges to practice in the state(s) where services are provided. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience. Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, time management, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., email, electronic records, digital platforms). Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 35pounds, push/pull with 30lb force, and perform necessary patient transfers. Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions. Knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and ability to assess age‑specific needs. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
