Operations Supervisor

Now Hiring: Operations Supervisor – Location: Parkville, MO – Pay Rate: $27.00 per Hour. At First Student, operation leaders play a critical role in keeping our locations running smoothly. In this role you will focus on supervising the day‑to‑day operations of our buses and scheduling the maintenance and fueling of the buses. Benefits Competitive Pay Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company contribution Paid time off and paid holidays Company‑paid life insurance Stable employment with a well‑established organization Opportunities for growth and internal advancement Employee discounts on cell phone plans, vehicles, electronics, and more through PerkSpot Responsibilities Always demonstrates and promotes a safe work environment Ensure drivers have the daily paperwork necessary to complete their routes Ensure completed charter paperwork is received by the Location Manager for processing Coordinate field trips by the assignment of personnel and vehicles Assist drivers with establishing route descriptions under location manager’s direction Ensure that drivers follow through with scheduled fueling and mechanical work Observe safety practices of personnel and take corrective action when necessary Assist Location Manager during training session and kick off meetings Attend disciplinary meetings with location manager May interact with school officials on routine matters at smaller bus locations May drive bus on occasion if necessary Assist dispatcher when necessary May manage small locations under the overall direction of the Location Manager Ensures that routes meet state, local, and vendor requirements Reviews time sheets prior to submission to payroll Qualifications 3-5 years experience in transportation industry Good supervisory skills Excellent communication and organization skills Good interpersonal skills and computer skills Subject to DOT drug testing and physical DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason EEO Statement We strive to attract and retain a diverse workforce; therefore, all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
