585+ bed hospital. Our hospital offers an array of medical and health clinic services. This includes women's services offering obstetrics and fertility, an emergency room, and a trauma center. We offer a Stroke Center, a walk-in clinic, and orthopedics across three Kansas City locations. Our specialty care areas include a Chest Pain Center, Level I Trauma Center, Breast Care Center, Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Programs, and Primary Stroke Center. We are one of 10 Midwest Health hospitals in Kansas City and surrounding areas

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as are source person for staff, and models a commitment to the organizations vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.

Participates in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.

Collaborateswith subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment ofteamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.

Supportsa patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.

Supportsthe efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing currentnursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and otherinitiatives.

Providesrecommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.Recommends and implements courses of action, including training anddevelopment, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion ofperformance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitivelybetter organization.

Assistswith staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects of staff labor inaccordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.

Supportsproper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

NEEDS TO HAVE STRONG CURRENT ACUTE CARE EXPERIENCE WITHIN theMed-Surg . They prefer someone who has been a charge RN in acutecare in MedSurg either that or someone who has been a staff RN for at least twoyears on a MedSurg unit and it needs to be recent so they wouldnt look atsomeone who did MedSurg like five years ago it needs to be someone who is doingit currently to go into a CNC role.


AdvancedCardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

BasicCardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

RegisteredNurse Diploma

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.


Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.


Activity in professional organizations encouraged.
