Litigation Associate - Construction Labor Law amp Insurance Defense

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced litigation associate to join its team in New York. This role involves managing a sophisticated litigation portfolio, including New York Labor Law, construction accident, transportation, premises liability, general liability, and commercial disputes. The successful candidate will independently develop case strategies, manage client relationships, and drive matters from inception through resolution. Duties Manage a litigation docket with minimal supervision. Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts. Engage in strong motion practice, including summary judgment motions and appellate briefing. Make substantive courtroom appearances, including conferences, oral arguments, and mediations. Analyze exposure, identify litigation risks, and develop defense strategies. Maintain excellent client-management skills. Requirements 4-8 years of insurance defense and complex civil litigation experience. Significant experience with New York Labor Law and related matters. Active New York law license in good standing. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in New York. Skills Superior legal research, writing, and advocacy abilities.
