Full-Time Legal Assistant

Compensation: $21–23/hour, based on experience Location: Full‑Time, In Office Reports to: Founder/Attorney Benefits: PTO · Business travel expenses covered · Prior law firm experience preferred but not required ABOUT THE ROLE The Legal Assistant is the first voice clients hear at AMG Law, LLC and the first line of advocacy, because for someone walking into a divorce or family law matter, being answered promptly, understood in their own language, and treated with patience is the beginning of representation. This is a full‑time, in‑office role primarily focused on the administrative tasks in service of clients navigating family law matters including divorce, custody, and parenting time. Daily tasks include: Answering incoming calls and managing client intake Supporting Spanish‑speaking clients in person and by phone Scheduling and confirming client consultations Managing intake paperwork and payment confirmations Filing court documents electronically and tracking deadlines Maintaining client files, calendars, and routine correspondence for attorney review Managing the firm’s general email inbox and incoming mail WHY THIS WORK MATTERS AMG Law, LLC is a bilingual family law practice where founder Ana Milena Goncalves, Esq. brings nearly two decades of civil litigation experience, a background in psychology and sociology, and early years advocating for foster children and families as a caseworker, to divorce, custody, and support matters across Bergen and Passaic counties.
