Role Description The Senior Accountant position is a full-time, on-site role based in Mt. Pleasant, SC. This role involves preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, assisting with tax planning engagements, and supporting bookkeeping activities such as recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining general ledgers. The Senior Accountant will also be expected to assist and develop junior team members. The Senior Accountant will help process payroll, compile financial statements, and assist with audit, review, and other assurance engagements under the supervision of a Partner. Daily responsibilities include analyzing financial data, communicating with clients to obtain necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax and accounting standards. The role also requires maintaining accurate work papers, meeting deadlines during busy seasons, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality client service. Qualifications Strong technical accounting foundation, including knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and general ledger reconciliation. Tax-focused skills such as individual and business tax preparation, tax planning, and familiarity with federal and state tax regulations. Experience or coursework in bookkeeping and payroll, including account coding, payroll processing, and proper documentation practices. Proficiency with accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar systems, tax preparation platforms) and solid Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; progress toward CPA licensure or interest in obtaining certification is preferred. Ability to work on-site in Mt. Pleasant, SC, manage multiple assignments, and maintain confidentiality of client information.
