Pediatric Dietitian

Pediatric dietitian needed. First-time travelers accepted. 2 years of work experience is necessary. Floating is required. Weekend coverage generally rotates every 2 months as needed. Certifications required include RD/RDN. Skills required encompass enteral and parenteral nutrition, outpatient clinic, and acute care experience. Candidate should manage cases related to elevated cholesterol, triglycerides, heart failure, diabetes, and diabetic ketoacidosis. Experience in handling low blood sugar, abdominal wounds and surgeries, chronic diarrhea, hyperemesis, and inflammatory bowel syndrome is essential. Knowledge of the effects of pressors on gastrointestinal functioning and management of cirrhosis is needed. Experience with dialysis, hemodialysis, and care for both acute and chronic kidney disease is required. Understanding of blood glucose, A1C, lipid panels, diuretics, immunosuppressants, and insulin management is crucial. Skills in handling dysphagia, appetite stimulants, and aspiration safety are necessary. Experience with enteral nutrition (tube feedings) and fluid balance is expected. Nutrition therapy complications and the ability to develop therapeutic diet orders are required. Familiarity with total parenteral nutrition (TPN) is essential. Candidates must assess fluid status, cachexia, and have experience with cancer care. Managing chronic wounds, developing plans of treatment, and adhering to dietary guidelines is expected. Candidates should also manage fluid and electrolyte requirements and recognize malabsorption syndromes, marasmus, metabolic demands, and nutrient deficiencies. Experience in nutrition assessments, reassessments, and conducting nutrition-focused physical exams (NFPE) is required. Knowledge of protein-calorie malnutrition and refeeding syndrome is expected. Acute care hospital or ICU experience is necessary. Candidates will work in an interdisciplinary environment with a focus on health equity and access to care. Strong alignment with health equity initiatives is important. Applicants will have opportunities to participate in research, protocol development, and program shaping as interested. Teamwork and collaboration are emphasized in this role. Cultural competency and the ability to work across a large and diverse patient population are essential.
