Pediatrician – Outpatient Primary Care

Prosperity Placement has been retained to identify a Pediatrician to join a mission-driven healthcare organization dedicated to providing high-quality, comprehensive care to diverse and medically underserved communities across Northern and Central Alabama.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $200,000 – $245,000, based on experience
• Loan Repayment: Eligible for NHSC Loan Repayment Program
• Paid Time Off: 15 vacation days, 5 sick days, and 11 paid holidays, including your birthday
• CME Support: 5 dedicated working days + $2,500 annual allowance
• Retirement: 401(k) with profit sharing and 50% match, up to 4%
• Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000 reimbursement with a 2-year contract
• Comprehensive Insurance: Medical, dental, vision, prescription drug card, LTD, AD&D, and term life
• Schedule: Monday–Friday; no weekends and no hospital coverage

Position Overview

The Pediatrician will provide comprehensive outpatient medical care to infants, children, and adolescents within a multidisciplinary primary care setting. This role emphasizes preventive care, wellness, immunizations, developmental screenings, acute illness management, and chronic disease management.

The Pediatrician will work collaboratively with clinical and support staff to ensure high-quality, accessible care while supporting the organization's mission to improve the health of children and families throughout the communities it serves.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Pediatric Care: Provide high-quality medical care to infants, children, and adolescents across a broad range of primary care needs.
• Preventive Care: Conduct well-child examinations, developmental assessments, immunizations, screenings, and anticipatory guidance.
• Acute & Chronic Care: Diagnose and treat acute illnesses while managing chronic pediatric conditions and coordinating specialty care when appropriate.
• Clinical Leadership: Supervise clinical staff and delegate tasks while maintaining responsibility for patient outcomes and quality of care.
• Collaborative Practice: Work interdependently within a multidisciplinary primary care team and participate in peer reviews and Quality Management activities.
• Family Education: Educate parents and caregivers regarding nutrition, development, preventive health, treatment plans, and overall child wellness.
• Community Health Advocacy: Participate in health education and community outreach initiatives focused on improving pediatric health outcomes.
• Health Informatics: Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and ensure all services are properly documented and coded.
• Call Coverage: Participate in a light, phone-only call rotation with no physical weekend or holiday clinic hours.

Qualifications

• Education: MD or DO, or foreign degree equivalent, from an accredited medical school.
• Residency: Successful completion of an accredited Pediatrics residency program.
• Certification: Board Certified in Pediatrics preferred; Board Eligible in Pediatrics required.
• Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Alabama.
• Skills: Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and knowledge of medical management principles.
• Experience: Experience providing outpatient pediatric care preferred.
