Corporate Counsel - Procurement

Who You Are Seasoned legal professional with expertise in procurement, engineering, construction, project development, insurance, vendor contract negotiations, and drafting and negotiating a wide range of transactional matters. You thrive in dynamic environments, bring a strategic mindset to complex legal matters, and possess strong commercial judgment and risk‑management experience for high‑volume vendor agreements supporting mission‑critical infrastructure. What You Will Do Provide legal support for the company’s procurement contracting terms and process; work with business groups to negotiate and manage a broad range of contracts, including Master Services Agreements, Equipment Supply Contracts, Software/SaaS Agreements, Professional Services/Consulting Agreements, and NDAs. Partner closely with procurement and business stakeholders to structure agreements that align with QTS’s commercial objectives and risk‑management practices. Support high‑volume contracting workflows while maintaining attention to detail and risk discipline. Advise on issues arising during contract performance, including disputes, change orders, claims, terminations, or other supplier performance issues. Advise on related regulatory and compliance matters, such as data privacy, environmental/health and safety considerations, permitting, due diligence, and other industry‑specific requirements impacting vendors. Work with and manage outside counsel, partners, customers, counterparties, and other third parties as needed. Perform a broad range of legal matters and general business matters based on the needs of the company, as may be assigned by the General Counsel. What You Will Need to be Successful J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials. Admission to the Bar of a U.S. state or the District of Columbia. Three or more years of legal experience as a practicing lawyer working in a general corporate transactional practice. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Hands‑on, self‑starter who is disciplined and detail‑oriented, able to work independently as well as in a team setting that requires a highly accurate and timely work product. Agile and versatile; comfortable with new and unfamiliar subject matter; easily adaptable to change. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Enterprising and entrepreneurial; able to take initiative with no direction. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong listening, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines. Ability to work in a fast‑paced and evolving business environment. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel), Box, Workday, and DocuSign. Excellent analytical, time‑management, judgment, and decision‑making skills. Strong problem‑solving and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively manage complicated legal and business issues and to manage others, including outside counsel and service providers.
