Community Engagement Coordinator

Position Overview Apex Skin is a physician‑led and rapidly growing dermatology practice committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences. We are seeking a talented and motivated Community Engagement Coordinator to support our marketing and business development efforts through community outreach, relationship building, event coordination, and local market engagement. This role includes identifying community engagement opportunities, coordinating events and spot check initiatives, building relationships with local organizations and partners, maintaining outreach pipelines, representing Apex Skin in the community, and tracking event outcomes and market insights. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, relationship‑building ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. Schedule Full-time position with regular travel throughout assigned markets. Flexibility to support occasional community events outside traditional business hours. Essential Functions Proactively research, identify, and pursue community engagement, marketing, and partnership opportunities aligned with organizational growth priorities. Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective community events, partnerships, employer relationships, educational programs, spot check opportunities, and grassroots marketing initiatives. Build and maintain relationships with chambers of commerce, employers, schools and universities, libraries, senior communities, municipalities, civic organizations, nonprofits, health and wellness organizations, local businesses, and other community partners. Conduct proactive outreach to introduce Apex Skin, identify areas of mutual interest, and develop long‑term partnerships rather than one‑time event interactions. Represent Apex Skin professionally at community events, networking opportunities, health fairs, chamber events, educational programs, and other external activities. Identify opportunities for sponsorships, speaking engagements, educational programs, health and wellness initiatives, cross‑promotions, employer partnerships, patient education, and brand activations. Evaluate community opportunities based on audience, market relevance, potential impact, organizational priorities, cost, and measurable return. Coordinate approved community initiatives from initial outreach and planning through execution, follow‑up, and reporting. Collaborate with Marketing, Business Development, Clinical Operations, providers, practice leadership, Clinical Research, and executive leadership when appropriate. Support marketing initiatives for new locations, providers, services, geographic growth, and other organizational priorities. Share community and market intelligence with leadership, including emerging opportunities, competitive activity, patient needs, community trends, and potential partnerships. Maintain ongoing communication and follow‑up with key community partners to strengthen and expand successful relationships. Spot Check & Community Health Initiatives Proactively identify organizations and community partners that could host skin cancer education and spot check events. Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of prospective spot check opportunities throughout targeted markets. Educate prospective partners about the community health value and purpose of spot check programs. Coordinate approved spot check events with clinical, operational, provider, Marketing, and Business Development teams. Assist with scheduling, staffing, provider participation, promotional materials, community communication, signage, supplies, and other event logistics. Support promotion and follow‑up for spot check events and identify opportunities to develop successful events into recurring programs or broader community partnerships. Track available outcomes including attendance, individuals screened, prospective patients identified, appointments generated, referrals, and other measurable results. Event Coordination & Marketing Support Coordinate approved community events, sponsorships, health fairs, educational programs, networking events, and community activations from planning through completion. Manage event registration, deadlines, partner communication, staffing requirements, materials, signage, promotional items, equipment, and other logistical needs. Coordinate provider and employee participation when appropriate and communicate event details and expectations to internal stakeholders. Ensure community activities, materials, and presentations appropriately represent Apex Skin messaging, brand standards, and strategic priorities. Maintain an organized and current community event calendar and complete timely post‑event partner and internal follow‑up. Support grassroots activation of marketing campaigns and identify prospective relationships that may create future growth opportunities. Tracking & Reporting Maintain accurate records of community organizations, contacts, outreach activities, events, partnerships, opportunities, and follow‑up activities. Track opportunities from initial identification through outreach, execution, follow‑up, and outcome. Maintain an active pipeline of spot check, community engagement, partnership, and marketing opportunities. Monitor available event results, costs, community coverage, and relationship development to help leadership evaluate impact. Provide regular updates to Marketing and Business Development leadership summarizing activity, results, opportunities, challenges, and recommended next steps. Qualifications Experience in healthcare, marketing, community engagement, business development, nonprofit relations, event marketing, field marketing, or a related area preferred. Experience developing external relationships, conducting proactive outreach, and building community partnerships preferred. Experience coordinating community events, health fairs, sponsorships, educational programs, or similar initiatives preferred. Healthcare or dermatology experience is beneficial but not required. Ability to travel regularly throughout assigned markets and attend community events as required. Flexibility to support occasional events outside traditional business hours when necessary. Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship‑building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence initiating conversations and conducting external outreach. Professionalism and sound judgment when representing a healthcare organization. High degree of initiative, self‑direction, and curiosity for identifying new opportunities. Strong organizational, planning, and follow‑through skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships, projects, and events simultaneously. Results‑oriented thinking with an understanding of how community engagement can support patient growth. Strong attention to detail and the ability to track, analyze, and communicate measurable outcomes. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments and organizational levels. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Work is performed in a combination of professional office, clinical, and community event environments. Regular local travel throughout assigned markets is required. Position may require periods of standing, walking, event setup, and transporting community outreach or event materials. Occasional evening or weekend attendance may be required based on community event schedules. Requires professional interaction with community partners, patients, providers, employees, and organizational leaders.
