Fifth Grade Teacher

Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students. Supervise students in various school-related settings. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes. Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and community. Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet all students' needs. Provide an environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of children. Maintain and improve professional competence. Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices. Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain regular, on-time attendance. Serve on special committees. Perform other duties as prescribed by Maryland State Law, Board of Education policy, Negotiated Agreement, and Building Principal. Prepare students for later grades by encouraging exploration of learning opportunities and perseverance with challenging tasks. Provide materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use in learning activities and imaginative play. Organize and lead activities promoting physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling. About You The company is looking for: Bachelor’s degree and licensure as established by the Maryland State Department of Education. Other experience as established by Maryland Law and Board of Education policy. Knowledge of subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies. Exemplary human relation skills. Exemplary organizational and planning skills. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff. Compensation & Benefits 10-month term of employment. Exempt status. Salary Scale: EACC, U1. Environmental Factors & Physical Requirements The role requires ordinary ambulatory skills to visit other locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights (10-50 pounds). Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity including grasping, and visual acuity to use a keyboard are necessary.
